Schuray.｜Dutch Army Wool Pile Boa Jacket

This pile boa jacket is based on Dutch military fleece.

It uses pile boa material made from thick, woolen yarn. While the count is too thick for a regular circular knitting machine, this circular knit material is knitted on an old American machine called a Tompkins machine.

While knitting is typically done from top to bottom, the Tompkins machine is characterized by knitting from bottom to top. Like loopwheel knitting, it is slowly formed while incorporating air, creating a sense of volume.

Although the material is thick, a three-needle flat stitch is used to hold the seam as flat as possible. This sewing method also accommodates the stretchiness of the boa.

This minimalist design is based on a Dutch military fleece jacket. The slightly loose fit allows it to be worn as a set.
